Hotel specialist (m / f / d)

Restaurant specialist (m / f / d)

Restaurant professionals work in pubs, pensions, restaurants or hotels, but also in large department stores and furniture stores with an integrated café or restaurant. In principle, restaurant professionals are active wherever serving customers with food and beverages is of great importance.

The activity often takes place in shift work. There are of course rush hours during regular working hours such as breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the day, the restaurant specialist very often covers long distances. Plates with food and trays with drinks have to be balanced.

This activity often calls for teamwork, especially in coordinating with the kitchen staff or the counter staff. Restaurant professionals are responsible for billing and invoicing the customer.

The employer usually has a central billing system, with the orders  during the ordering process in a  Order computer can be entered.

It is a misconception that the cook only has to concentrate on preparing meals. The job description requires more than you think. The preparation of a menu, the purchase of ingredients / food as well as their proper storage are the tasks of cooks.
